Full job description
- Supervise PreOp and PACU nursing staff including scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and training
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient volume and acuity
- Facilitate effective communication among surgical team members, patients, and families
- Participate in management meetings, strategic planning, and policy development
- Oversee nursing assessments, interventions, and documentation to ensure compliance with standards of care
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure safe and efficient patient flow
- Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices in perioperative nursing
- Monitor patient outcomes, incidents, and quality metrics; implement performance improvement initiatives as needed
- Ensure compliance with CMS, AAAHC, OSHA, HIPAA, and state regulations
- Maintain accurate records and participate in audits and inspections
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified nursing staff
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- PALS and BLS certifications (required)
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and safety standards for ASCs
- Basic Computer Skills
- Fast-paced outpatient surgical environment
- May require occasional extended hours depending on case volume
- Physically able to stand for long periods and assist in patient transfers
