Full job description

Academic Pediatric Radiologist

Freestanding Children's Hospital. Statewide Reach. University of Oklahoma

Position Highlights:

  • Join a defined Pediatric Radiology section within OU Health's Department of Radiological Sciences - a cohesive academic group with shared call and strong resident support, not a fragmented or transient model.
  • Practice at Oklahoma Children's Hospital, the state's only freestanding comprehensive pediatric medical center, on a campus anchored by a Level I pediatric trauma center.
  • 100,000+ pediatric imaging studies annually across CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, fluoroscopy, and image-guided procedures - volume and case diversity across every pediatric age group and acuity level.
  • Clinically integrated with pediatrics, pediatric surgery, oncology, NICU, and emergency medicine within Oklahoma's only fully integrated, statewide academic health network - real subspecialty collaboration, not isolated reads.
  • Section-based call currently 1:4 and improving with this hire; strong resident support limits overnight disruption.
  • Daily resident and medical student teaching, with research and leadership involvement supported but not mandated - flexibility as your academic interests evolve.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Approximately $575,000 base, transitioning to an uncapped wRVU production model - transparent framework used consistently across the department.
  • Additional compensation for extra call shifts.
  • $25,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Visa sponsorship available, including H-1B.
  • 9% employer retirement contribution, $5,500 CME allowance, relocation assistance, full malpractice coverage, and 6 weeks PTO in year one.

Qualifications:

  • Open to new graduates and experienced faculty.
  • US-trained and international medical graduates considered.
  • Genuine interest in teaching and academic practice; research encouraged but not required.
