Midwest Pump Works, a UFT company, is a pump sales, service, and consulting company with offices in Green Bay, Wisconsin; Dundas, Menahga, and Palisade, Minnesota; Ankeny, Iowa; and Louisville, Nebraska. We offer a wide range of products for municipal, industrial, and construction projects, including water and wastewater pumps. Our factory-trained technicians are always available to assist with pump repairs, motor repairs, and control panel repairs. We specialize in hydraulic troubleshooting, system installations, routine preventative maintenance, full pump rebuilds, lift station service checks, and emergency response 

We are hiring a Service Technician in Menahga, MN. We are seeking an individual with a strong mechanical aptitude who excels in both independent work and collaborative efforts with vendors and colleagues, whether on-site or in our shop or at customer locations. The service team plays a crucial role in the upkeep and restoration of wastewater pumps, panels, and associated equipment. 

This position will require you to be on-site in our Menahga, MN shop location and travel to local customer locations with some overnight travel. This role also will work Monday-Friday 7am-4pm with rotating on-call to be required.

What you'll do:

  • Pump rebuilding: breakdown, evaluation, repair, testing.
  • Install and ensure the efficient and safe operations of all pump equipment with new or replacement parts.
  • Confined space entry to complete lift station inspections and rebuilds.
  • Disassemble broken or defective pump equipment to facilitate the repair and reassemble when repairs are complete. Perform routine maintenance of all pump equipment.
  • Keep accurate and timely records of equipment movement, installation progress, service schedules, customer interactions, and other paperwork required for proper documentation of work performed.
  • Clean and test all repaired equipment to ensure operations and appearance are up to company standards.
  • Respond to emergency callouts.
  • Work rotating on-call.

What you bring:

  • At least 1 year of pump repair & maintenance experience or related maintenance experience is required.
  • Prior service technician experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, twist, kneel, and lift 50lbs without injury.
  • Be able to work in confined spaces like, pump station wet wells and manholes.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver license.
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday 7am-4pm. Rotating on-call will be required.
