Full job description
Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.
We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team. This person will focus on testing complex subsystems in our humanoid robot.
Responsibilities
- Perform subsystem and system-level testing to verify functionality, performance, and reliability against specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and integration issues identified during testing.
- Develop, document, and execute test procedures and validation plans.
- Build and maintain automated test processes to improve efficiency and repeatability.
- Integrate test automation, data collection, and reporting tools into existing workflows.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across testing processes and product quality.
- Document results and track issues using JIRA and Google Workspace tools.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience testing, diagnosing, or supporting complex systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at the system level.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience reading and following detailed mechanical and electrical documentation.
- Comfortable using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for assembly and testing.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and replace components up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA or similar platforms.
- Programming experience in Python, Java, and/or C++.
- Familiarity with automated test systems and DAQ hardware.
- Hands-on experience with robotics systems or electromechanical integration.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001 standards.
- Experience working with brushless motors, harmonic drives, clutches, or torque/force sensors.
The US hourly range for this full-time position is between $45/hr to $70/hr.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
