Full job description
A nursing home in the Albany, NY area is hiring a Full-Time Director Of Environmental Services
Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility.
Establish and maintain cleaning procedures that meet company policies, OSHA guidelines, and industry standards.
Create staff schedules and assign daily work to ensure all areas of the facility are properly maintained.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate EVS team members to promote high performance and accountability.
Perform routine inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
Work closely with department leaders to address environmental service needs and support facility operations.
Keep current with best practices, regulatory requirements, and new developments in environmental services.
Qualifications
Previous supervisory or management experience in Environmental Services, Housekeeping, or a related field.
Strong understanding of commercial cleaning methods, OSHA regulations, infection control, and safety practices.
Experience with hard floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and maintaining floors.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.
Experience in a healthcare, rehabilitation, hospital, or long-term care setting is strongly preferred.
