Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Dr. Maggie Davis & Associates – Palm Harbor, FL
Full-Time or Part-Time | Monday–Thursday | Fridays Until 2 PM | No Weekends
Dr. Maggie Davis & Associates is a well-established, privately owned pediatric dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional care and creating an outstanding experience for every patient and family we serve.
We are seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) who is positive, dependable, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Perform expanded functions restorative procedures as permitted by Florida law
- Assist the doctor chairside during a variety of pediatric dental procedures
- Take high-quality digital radiographs
- Perform dental cleanings and coronal polishing as permitted
- Provide oral hygiene instructions and patient education to children and parents
- Maintain accurate clinical records using electronic dental software
Clinical Support
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient care
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering dental supplies
- Help maintain an efficient clinical schedule and patient flow
- Ensure operatories are clean, organized, and fully stocked
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with doctors and fellow team members
- Assist teammates whenever needed to provide an exceptional patient experience
- Participate in morning huddles and team meetings
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude while helping create a fun and welcoming environment for our patients
Qualifications
Required
- Current Florida EFDA certification
- Current Dental Radiology Certification
- Experience as a dental assistant (pediatric experience preferred)
- Computer proficiency and experience with electronic dental records

Schedule
Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Full-time position averaging approximately 36–40 hours per week. Team members are not expected to work the entire hours of operation.
OR
Part-Time position averaging approximately 25-35 hours per week. Team members are not expected to work the entire hours of operation.
