What You’ll Be Responsible For

Own the payroll process

Manage end-to-end weekly payroll for 750+ employees across multiple states

Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time—every cycle

Reconcile payroll prior to submission and validate final reports

Ensure compliance and accuracy

Apply correct federal, state, and local tax rules

Reconcile time entries to job-cost timecards

Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation

Support year-end and reporting

Assist with year-end and regulatory reporting, including W-2s, 941s, 1095s, and 1099s

Partner with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely and accurate filings

Administer benefits with care

Support employee benefits administration, including:

New hire enrollments

Employee changes and terminations

Annual open enrollment coordination

Serve as a knowledgeable, approachable resource for benefits-related questions

Be a problem solver

Respond promptly to payroll and benefits questions

Investigate and resolve discrepancies with professionalism and discretion

Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team

What You Bring

Experience & Background

High school diploma required; post-secondary degree preferred

5+ years of full-cycle payroll experience for 200+ employees

Multi-state payroll experience required

Union payroll and reporting experience is a plus (not required)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of payroll best practices and compliance requirements

High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills

Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable working with employees and leaders at all levels

Ability to juggle competing priorities without losing accuracy or focus

Technology & Tools

Experience with an in-house payroll system preferred

Proficiency in Windows-based environments

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams; PowerPoint a plus)

This role is based on-site at our corporate headquarters in the East Lake-Orient Park area of Tampa, conveniently located near the I-4 / I-75 interchange.

What You Will Do

  • Utilize eCMS ERP to support weekly processing for over 1,000 nationwide associates .
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Understand proper state and federal taxation laws.
  • Reconcile time to the job cost timecards.
  • Assist in processing accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, 941, 1095, 1099).
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records.
  • Assist with managing employee benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, and annual open enrollment.
  • Resolve payroll issues and respond to queries and requests in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need

  • 1+ years' experience processing payroll is required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience with an in-house payroll system is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices and federal and state regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential material.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
