Role Overview

We are looking for a Field Machinist Specialist to join our team!

Responsibilities:
• Machinist required to repair, maintain, install and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pumps, agitators, fans, centrifuges, etc.).
• Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment
• Execute preventive maintenance program
• Calibrate, align and make adjustments to production equipment
• Work hours are Mon. - Fri., 8 hour days (40 hours/week) with occasional overtime
• Available for call in on off hours as needed to make equipment repairs
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.

Qualifications include:
• HS diploma
• Field machinist or millwright training and demonstrated experience
• Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
• Able to work in confined spaces
• Able to work from heights from a ladder or man lift
• Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
• Able to read and interpret mechanical/machine drawings
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Excellent safety record - places safety and environment as top priority in all work
• Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
• Good communication skills - daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed.
• Good team player - willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed.

Work Hours:
• Work hours are either days shifts or the Fireman's rotating schedule.
o Mon. - Fri., 8 hour days (40 hours/week) with occasional overtime
o Rotating fireman's schedule is (2 (12hr) days then 2 (12hr) Night shifts followed by 4 days off.
• Available for calling in on off hours as needed to make equipment repairs

Minimum Education Level and experience:
  • 2 year schooling and/or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience
