Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite at our hospital facility in Pensacola, providing a supportive work environment conducive to learning and collaboration. The physical therapy department is equipped with cutting-edge tools and resources to facilitate effective treatment and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients within 24 hours of physician referral, ensuring timely assessment to initiate appropriate therapy.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on the latest evidence-based practices, obtaining necessary approvals from referring physicians.
• Treat patients in accordance with their physician's treatment plan, utilizing various therapeutic modalities and techniques to promote recovery.
• Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, providing guidance in patient-care activities while adhering to state practice regulations.
• Engage in continuous communication with physicians, nursing staff, and other health team members to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Facilitate in-service training sessions for fellow staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in patient care, contributing to a culture of ongoing education.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of evaluations, treatment notes, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, including Patient Care Conferences and Utilization Review meetings, to collaborate on patient care strategies.
• Instruct patients’ families and nursing staff on essential maintenance programs and caregiver training as part of discharge planning.
• Assist in recommending and procuring appropriate durable medical equipment, such as walkers, canes, and braces, to support patient independence post-discharge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The population we serve includes a diverse group of patients requiring orthopedic rehabilitation services. As a Staff Physical Therapist, you will work closely with individuals recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. The comprehensive care approach we take ensures each patient receives personalized attention, aiding their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Florida.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication to foster effective relationships with patients and team members.
• Ability to multitask and manage a busy clinic environment effectively.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
