Work Environment

This role is primarily onsite at our hospital facility in Pensacola, providing a supportive work environment conducive to learning and collaboration. The physical therapy department is equipped with cutting-edge tools and resources to facilitate effective treatment and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients within 24 hours of physician referral, ensuring timely assessment to initiate appropriate therapy.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on the latest evidence-based practices, obtaining necessary approvals from referring physicians.
  • Treat patients in accordance with their physician's treatment plan, utilizing various therapeutic modalities and techniques to promote recovery.
  • Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, providing guidance in patient-care activities while adhering to state practice regulations.
  • Engage in continuous communication with physicians, nursing staff, and other health team members to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Facilitate in-service training sessions for fellow staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in patient care, contributing to a culture of ongoing education.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of evaluations, treatment notes, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings, including Patient Care Conferences and Utilization Review meetings, to collaborate on patient care strategies.
  • Instruct patients’ families and nursing staff on essential maintenance programs and caregiver training as part of discharge planning.
  • Assist in recommending and procuring appropriate durable medical equipment, such as walkers, canes, and braces, to support patient independence post-discharge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The population we serve includes a diverse group of patients requiring orthopedic rehabilitation services. As a Staff Physical Therapist, you will work closely with individuals recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Florida.

Compensation and Benefits
