Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in administering treatment plans to enhance patient mobility, alleviate pain, and prevent further physical disabilities.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist, utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems to document care accurately.
• Evaluate patients independently and implement therapeutic activities under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, focusing on improving patients' functional abilities.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records for each patient, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Engage with patients to educate them about their treatment, home exercises, and lifestyle modifications that support their recovery.
• Participate in departmental meetings to discuss treatment methodologies, share experiences, and implement best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Emerald Valley PT, you will work primarily with orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain conditions. You will provide tailored treatment plans that consider the unique needs of each patient, fostering their recovery journey in a compassionate and supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with completion of a state-approved PTA program.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in outpatient orthopedic therapy.
• Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and protocols related to community and senior care.
• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills to build strong patient-provider relationships.

Preferred Experience

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure efficient documentation and patient tracking.
• Previous experience in an outpatient therapy setting is highly desirable.
• A background in patient education or support is a plus.
