Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a SAL Technician to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.

A Day in the Life:     

The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives. 

  • Remove and install prototype parts and complete other setup related items for a vehicle crash test.
  • Install instrumentation, targets, mass, and other items required per test parameters. 
  • Proficient in setting up a measurement coordinate system using a CMM to make accurate and repeatable measurements for pretest and posttest activities.
  • Assisting engineers with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and development of effective countermeasures for vehicle testing
  • Collaborate with a team to successfully conduct a variety of static lab tests
  • Maintain a clean professional work environment and compete other tasks as requested by lab supervisor

Who We’re Looking for:  

Required: 

  • Associate's degree in an automotive-related discipline plus 4 years of test technician experience or equivalent required. Will consider 8 years test technician experience in lieu of an associate’s degree.
  • Proficient in removing and installing systems/components in or on a vehicle. Also, experience installing accelerometers, string pots, contact switches, and other instrumentation in a vehicle.
  • Proficiency using data collection equipment, video equipment, and diagnostic equipment
  • Positive attitude and demonstration of positive mindset.  Willingness to learn new tasks such as vehicle post-test analysis, static lab support, ATD Calibration, and others is a requirement.
  • Knowledge and experience in Dynamic Safety (Crash Testing) testing is desired.
  • Internal candidates at the Technician 2, Technician 3, and Technician 4 level will be considered for lateral move
