Nashville VA Medical Center - Nashville, TN
Salary: Approx. $330,000-$370,000 (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday

The Nashville VA Medical Center, part of the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist with strong expertise in Pain Management to join our mission-driven team caring for Veterans. This role offers a unique blend of perioperative anesthesia and acute/limited chronic pain management in a collaborative, academic environment in Music City USA.

Position Highlights

  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic management of acute and limited chronic pain , emphasizing multimodal analgesia and functional recovery.

  • Perform regional anesthesia (spinal, epidural, peripheral nerve blocks) with a focus on optimizing pain control before, during, and after procedures.

  • Deliver monitored anesthesia care , sedation, and analgesia for a variety of surgical and interventional procedures.

  • Participate in comprehensive perioperative care : preoperative assessment and optimization, intraoperative anesthetic management, and postoperative pain and recovery planning.

  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, medical specialists, intensivists, and CRNAs in a team-based, academic setting.

  • Contribute to quality improvement and, if desired, teaching and academic activities with affiliated institutions.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency .

  • Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology.

  • Fellowship training or substantial experience in Pain Management , perioperative medicine, or critical care are strongly preferred.
