Position Overview
Seaport Orthopedic PT is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Orlando, Florida. In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to facilitate patient rehabilitation within a hospital environment, helping individuals recover from injuries, improve mobility, and regain independence in their daily lives.

Work Environment
This position is based onsite at our hospital facility, where your primary interactions will occur. The setting allows for a dynamic work environment that includes direct patient care in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive treatment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans as developed by physical therapists, which may involve preparing patients for treatments, educating them on the rehabilitation process, and demonstrating exercises.
- Administer therapeutic exercises and treatment modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques to enhance patient recovery.
- Regularly monitor and record patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physical therapist to best meet the patients' needs.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mobility and function, providing clear and concise documentation that meets licensing requirements and assists in treatment planning.
- Participate in patient and family education sessions to ensure comprehensive understanding of treatment goals, home exercise programs, and safety practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment to adhere to safety protocols while ensuring equipment is functioning properly and available when needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patient demographic primarily consists of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and various conditions affecting mobility and function. You will play a vital role in assisting these patients through their rehabilitation process, helping them regain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Valid certification and current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Florida.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Physical Therapy or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a hospital environment is highly preferred, especially with orthopedic patients.
- Knowledge of current physical therapy practices and methodologies that support overall patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
