Work Environment

This position will be based onsite in a hospital setting in Woodbridge, NJ. You will work a standard schedule of Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet the unique needs of our patients and ensure smooth clinic operations. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct physical therapy interventions according to the plan of care outlined by licensed physical therapists.
  • Administering therapeutic exercises, aiding patients in both active and passive movements, muscle reeducation, gait training, and functional training activities tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Implementing treatment modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and massage techniques to relieve pain and promote healing.
  • Monitoring patients' reactions to therapies and documenting changes in their condition accurately in clinical notes as per organizational protocols.
  • Educating patients on the proper usage and care of mobility aids including wheelchairs, braces, crutches, and other adaptive equipment.
  • Maintaining organized and timely clinical documentation, ensuring all essential records are included in patients' health files.
  • Engaging in regular interdisciplinary team meetings and contributing actively to quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in continued education programs, enhancing your skills and professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population ranging from post-operative rehabilitation clients to individuals with chronic pain conditions. Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program, earning an Associate's degree in science or applied science verified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Current certification or licensure in physical therapy assistance, compliant with New Jersey state laws.
  • Possession of a valid CPR certification and a current driver's license with an insured vehicle in good working order.
  • A strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience as a physical therapist assistant is required.
