Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our compassionate team at Preferred Therapy Center, located in Paterson, New Jersey. Work Environment

The PTA role will be based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Paterson, New Jersey. This dynamic and collaborative environment is designed to foster teamwork among healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. The center operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility necessary to meet patient needs and accommodate clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in executing individualized treatment plans that target improvements in mobility, strength, and functionality for diverse patient populations.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities aimed at enhancing their physical well-being and relieving pain.
  • Educate patients on proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and create home exercise programs to optimize their recovery process.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Document and monitor patient progress, tracking metrics such as range of motion, strength gains, and overall functional improvements accurately.
  • Maintain treatment areas, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are organized and available for therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care and enhance treatment outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, cultivating a motivating and positive atmosphere.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and respecting their rights at all times.

Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
