Job Description
The TR-317 Inspector is responsible for performing visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished products to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements. This position supports manufacturing operations by identifying nonconforming material, documenting inspection results, and helping maintain product quality standards.

Job Description
The TR-317 Inspector is responsible for performing visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished products to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements. This position supports manufacturing operations by identifying nonconforming material, documenting inspection results, and helping maintain product quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify product conformance using engineering drawings, specifications, route sheets, and work instructions.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using calibrated measuring equipment.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material.
- Initiate and process nonconformance reports as required.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Verify completion of required manufacturing and inspection records.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous manufacturing, inspection, or quality experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
- Proficient in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment such as:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height Gages
- Optical Comparators
- Other inspection equipment as required
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic documentation systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to make accurate pass/fail determinations based on defined criteria.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle parts and inspection tools.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed inspections.
