Job Summary

Responsible for providing only those respiratory care modalities that they have demonstrated clinical competency in during their formal training. Will provide care for all patent populations and will generally only provide this care in the non-critical care units. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations. Must possess the skills necessary to assess the respiratory status of patents of all ages. Must understand and demonstrate proficiency in all respiratory care equipment used and therapies performed, and be able to learn and utilize new technology as the state of the art of respiratory care evolves.

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) endorsed program of Respiratory Care. Must have verification from the program of skills in which competency has been demonstrated. Must complete orientation and other competency validations and in-services as required by the department and hospital.

Must have a current applicable state license for Respiratory Care Practitioner if working in a state where licensure is required.
