Position Overview
BodySync PT, located in Islip, New York, is excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our esteemed orthopedic team. This full-time position requires an individual who is passionate about patient care and eager to make a significant impact in the rehabilitation journey of our patients. As a PTA, you will provide essential support under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists, directly contributing to personalized treatment programs designed to optimize mobility and enhance recovery.

Work Environment
The position is onsite at our modern facility in Islip, New York, designed to facilitate collaborative healthcare practices. Our outpatient department operates from Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured setting that promotes effective teamwork and patient engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Administer direct therapeutic interventions as prescribed by supervising Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols tailored for orthopedic recovery.
- Document patient progress by maintaining accurate notes, treatment summaries, and discharge documentation in compliance with departmental policies.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives, such as participating in chart reviews to enhance departmental standards and patient outcomes.
- Respond appropriately to emergency protocols and assist in maintaining a safe environment for all patients and staff.
- Participate in family meetings as needed, communicating effectively to ensure all stakeholders are informed regarding patient status and care plans.
- Continuously seek to expand your knowledge in rehabilitation techniques by attending workshops, training sessions, and team meetings.
- Perform other related duties essential to the role, ensuring the highest level of care and support for our patients.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus is on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will work with a diverse patient population, each with unique rehabilitation needs. Cultivating a patient-centered approach, you will help individuals regain their independence and enhance their quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of New York.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting preferred.
- Proven competency in administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and employing rehabilitation techniques effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering positive patient relationships.
- Basic familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in an outpatient orthopedic care environment.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices in physical therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation and Benefits
BodySync PT offers a competitive salary range between $70,000 and $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
