Position Overview
BodySync PT is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to enhance our outpatient orthopedic team located in Hempstead, New York. Key Responsibilities
- Administer direct patient care in accordance with the treatment plans outlined by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols.
- Document patient progress thoroughly, including daily notes and discharge summaries, aligning with departmental policies and state regulations.
- Engage in ongoing personal and professional development by participating in quality improvement initiatives, such as chart reviews and departmental meetings.
- React appropriately to emergencies by following established department procedures, contributing to patient safety and care.
- Assist in the management of patients' needs by attending family meetings and collaborating with other healthcare team members regarding patient welfare.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our therapy services.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position primarily serves patients facing various orthopedic challenges, including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic conditions affecting mobility. A significant part of your role will be fostering a rehabilitative atmosphere that empowers patients and encourages their active participation in recovery.
Qualifications
- Possession of an active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New York State.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an Associate's degree with a combination of education and experience that aligns with state regulations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques, ensuring a robust skill set to facilitate effective patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for fostering relationships with patients and collaborating with a healthcare team.
Preferred Experience
