Work Environment
The Staff Physical Therapist role is onsite at our hospital facility, offering a collaborative atmosphere where therapists work together alongside various healthcare teams. You will operate in a fast-paced yet supportive environment, treating a diverse range of patient cases in orthopedics. With flexible work hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, this position allows for optimal work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients referred for physical therapy within 24 hours, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of all findings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in alignment with physician directives, obtaining necessary approvals while considering patient-specific goals.
- Implement treatment plans, utilizing various approaches such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to facilitate patient recovery.
- Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, guiding them in delivering effective patient care under compliance with state laws and organizational policies.
- Collaborate proactively with other healthcare providers and family members, discussing patient progress and any concerns arising during treatment.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings, sharing insights on patient management and contributing to overall treatment strategies.
- Engage in ongoing in-service training for fellow staff members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and shared knowledge.
- Maintain precise records of all patient interactions, treatment plans, and changes in condition, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercises and caregiver training as part of discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-therapy.
- Coordinate the procurement of durable medical equipment as needed, making recommendations that enhance mobility and independence for patients.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patients primarily consist of individuals with orthopedic concerns, including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. As a Staff Physical Therapist, your expertise will help these patients maximize their functional mobility and overall quality of life through skilled, compassionate care tailored to their specific needs.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Physical Therapy (MPT) from an APTA-accredited program.
- A current and valid Florida State Licensure (PTA).
- Solid understanding of best practices in outpatient orthopedics, including effective manual therapy techniques.

Compensation and Benefits
Velocity Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
