Sinai Hospital's Orthopedic Unit is a 50-bed acute care medical/surgical unit that partners closely with the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics for pre- and post-surgical care. Professional development includes telemetry classes, stroke training, and trauma courses, giving nurses room to build skills across orthopedics and beyond.

The Medical Practice Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and is responsible for creating a positive patient experience while supporting the daily operations of the medical office.

    Pay Range: $15.50 to $27.29 Base pay is determined by several factors, including the applicable market range, the candidate's qualifications and experience, and internal peer equity considerations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Register patients and schedule appointments.
    • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations and referrals.
    • Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information.
    • Collect co-pays and other patient payments, reconcile daily cash batches, and prepare deposits.
    • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, explaining financial responsibilities, and assisting with medical records requests.
    • Support efficient front-office operations and administrative functions.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • One to three years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
    • Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
    • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
