True North Medical Institute is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Sparks, Nevada. Work Environment
As a Physical Therapy Assistant at our hospital-based facility, you will operate in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will engage daily with physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless integration of care and therapy for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient, ensuring adherence to safety and therapeutic protocols.
- Conduct patient evaluations and functional assessments that highlight patient needs and inform treatment strategies.
- Administer physical therapy modalities such as therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and ultrasound, while ensuring patient comfort and understanding of the treatment process.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises and home care strategies to enhance recovery and ensure long-term wellness.
- Document patient progress accurately in electronic medical records (EMRs), tracking outcomes and communicating effectively with team members regarding changes in patient status.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on treatment strategies with the multidisciplinary care team.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with adult patients suffering from varied orthopedic issues, including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your role will be vital in helping patients regain their mobility and enhance their quality of life through comprehensive rehabilitative care.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant, preferably in an orthopedic or rehabilitation setting.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Nevada.
- Demonstrated compassion and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMRs) for documentation and care coordination.
- A genuine interest in ongoing professional development and staying current with therapeutic advancements.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
