Position Overview
Thrive & Flourish Health Network is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Suffolk, Virginia. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of selected components of direct patient care under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, utilizing established protocols and best practices.
- Effectively instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and range of motion.
- Assess individual patient needs, demonstrating compassion and empathy while tailoring treatment approaches to meet their unique circumstances and goals.
- Monitor patient progress, recommending adjustments to the treatment plan based on clinical observation to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Integrate the latest clinical research findings into practice, enhancing approaches to restoring function, reducing symptoms, and preventing further injury.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions, progress notes, treatment interventions, and outcomes in compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.
- Collect and record pertinent data to assist in evaluating the efficacy of treatment strategies, contributing to interdisciplinary discussions about patient care.
- Uphold high standards of ethical behavior and adhere to legal regulations governing physical therapy practices.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with advancements in physical therapy and rehabilitation practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions that impede their physical function. The PTA will engage with a diverse patient demographic, tailoring interventions for each individual's rehabilitation needs while collaborating as part of a larger healthcare team to foster holistic recovery.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting.
- A current state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong knowledge and application of physiotherapy techniques, intervention protocols, and rehabilitation equipment.
- Commitment to ethical practice and dedication to ongoing professional development.
Preferred Experience
- At least one year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and treatment documentation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
Compensation and Benefits
