Position Overview

Resurge Rehab & Therapy is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will work closely with our highly skilled Physical Therapists to provide exceptional outpatient rehabilitation services, ensuring our patients achieve their recovery and rehabilitation goals efficiently and effectively.

Work Environment

You will be stationed in our state-of-the-art hospital facility, equipped with the latest physical therapy equipment and technology. Our outpatient orthopedic setting allows for focused therapeutic interventions where you will engage with patients in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured work schedule that promotes work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering prescribed physical therapy interventions according to treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and therapeutic modalities, ensuring a safe and effective rehabilitation process.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment protocols and actively communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate and motivate patients on their home exercise programs and best practices for movement and posture to facilitate ongoing recovery outside of the therapy setting.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions and progress in compliance with both clinic standards and regulatory requirements.
• Build and foster positive and empowering relationships with patients to create an encouraging and patient-centered environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. You will work with individuals of varying ages and physical abilities who are eager to regain strength, mobility, and independence. Providing empathetic and respectful care will be fundamental in helping patients navigate their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• Active PTA license in Virginia, or eligibility to obtain this licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS certification is necessary to ensure patient safety and compliance.
• Strong communication skills, coupled with a commitment to teamwork and patient satisfaction, are crucial for success in this role.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is highly preferred; however, we encourage new graduates with strong clinical training to apply.
• A solid understanding of patient evaluation techniques and treatment modalities, as well as how they apply in practice.
• A collaborative mindset and a readiness to actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights to enhance patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, supplemented by performance-based bonuses. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
