Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing therapeutic treatment plans as devised by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Provide hands-on care through therapeutic exercises and manual techniques aimed at enhancing patient recovery.
  • Monitor patient progress carefully, documenting outcomes and revising treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal results.
  • Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, injury prevention, and recovery methods, empowering them throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and holistic patient care.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation to comply with healthcare regulations and facilitate efficient treatment delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working primarily with patients recovering from orthopedic surgery, injuries, and conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. This includes individuals recovering from knee replacements, fractures, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Your role is essential in guiding these patients towards improved mobility and quality of life, using targeted therapies that address their specific challenges and goals.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistance or equivalent.
  • Current and active PTA state license is mandatory.
  • A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in an orthopedic setting, demonstrating the ability to apply therapeutic techniques effectively.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and familiarity with rehabilitation software tools is a plus.
