Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests: Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away. Christmas RTO cannot be approved. Up to 40 hours of time off can be approved.

Unit Details: Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. The unit can have 8-10 discharges daily with 8-10 admissions from PACU, ED, and ICU. Patient population includes stroke, general neurology, neurosurgery cases such as brain tumor resection, SDH, and pituitary tumor, TBI, SCI, and spine surgeries such as laminectomy and fusion, with occasional off-service medicine and orthopedic patients. Remote telemetry is used on select patients; occasional equipment and monitoring include EEG, lumbar drain, EVD, and ICP monitoring.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48. Every other weekend; must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.
