Full job description

Wellstar is seeking a Lead Sonographer to provide advanced diagnostic ultrasound services and day-to-day leadership within a collaborative, patient-centered care team. In this role, you will perform and oversee a broad range of ultrasound exams, ensuring image quality, exam accuracy, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. You will coordinate workflow, support scheduling, and act as a clinical resource to technologists and providers. The Lead Sonographer mentors staff, participates in training and competency validation, and partners with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize exam protocols and support timely clinical decisions. You will help drive quality improvement, contribute to a culture of integrity, compassion, and inclusion, and support community health across Wellstar’s hospitals and care settings.
