Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation and experience with non-titrating Cardizem/Amiodarone are required; ask the manager for approval if you lack this experience. General medical/surgical skills are required, including care of patients with tubes/drains, IV starts, blood products, and wound care/dressing changes.
Unit Details: Patient populations include mostly medical Med/Tele surgical patients with ESRD, CHF, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes/DKA, wounds, and acute/chronic renal failure; there are fewer surgical patients. Starting Spring 2026, the unit will include hematology/oncology patients; travelers must be comfortable caring for these patients. Chemotherapy certification is not required, and travelers may administer chemotherapy only if certified. RN ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, with critical surge ratios of 1:7-8. CNAs provide patient care, including ADLs, vitals, nutrition, and mobility, at a 1:12 ratio on days and nights. Support includes a 24/7 receptionist/HUC who can validate EKGs, charge nurse coverage, 24/7 phlebotomy, a 24/7 IV/VAT team, a dedicated pharmacist, case management support, a Med-Surg clinical nurse specialist, 24/7 respiratory therapy for nebulizer treatments, a nurse educator, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, and telemetry monitoring/tech support. The unit uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, Rover communication, and Hoyer lifts.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. No call.
Floating Requirements: Floating to all facilities in Region 2—Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children’s Hospital)—is required as needed within scope of practice; decline the assignment if you are not agreeable to this floating requirement.
14 days maximum time off
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
