Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2290 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: - Post-op care of patients.

Special Requests: - Will consider block scheduling; must be approved at the time of contract.

Unit Details: - Nurse-patient ratios: 4-5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights; ratios may go up to 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights if absolutely needed. - Common patient population and care includes post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients; dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NGs, central lines, and TPN. - No titratable drips; heparin only. - Charge RNs do not take assignments; house supervisor available 24/7. - PCT support ratios: 7-10 patients per PCT on days and 10-15 patients per PCT on nights; assists with vitals, accu checks, ADLs, turning, and ambulation. - No vents. CPAP and high flow; RT manages nebs, and RNs manage inhalers and can place patients on CPAP. - Some patients are on telemetry; Philips monitors with a central station for monitor techs, and bedside RNs do not read strips.

Shift & Scheduling: - Travelers do not self-schedule. - Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are the weekend shifts. - Rotate every other holiday. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Travelers are the first to float. - Will float to units with the same level of experience. - If an ICU RN floats to a general unit, they take a team of 3 patients.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
