Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to work in a diverse and challenging healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient assessment, treatment planning, and neurological rehabilitation. They will also have a solid understanding of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), documentation, functional mobility, and electronic medical records (EMR).
Responsibilities:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for:
1. Conducting comprehensive patient assessments to identify physical and functional needs.
2. Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that promote optimal health, functional mobility, and independence.
3. Providing hands-on therapy and using adaptive equipment to help patients perform daily activities.
4. Offering patient education and guidance on using assistive devices, modifications, and techniques to improve quality of life.
5. Coordinating care with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic and integrated treatment.
6. Documenting patient progress and updating electronic medical records in a timely and accurate manner.
7. Providing neurological rehabilitation for patients suffering from brain injuries, stroke, or other neurological disorders.
8. Maintaining CPR certification and applying emergency procedures when necessary.
9. Training patients and their families on adaptive equipment to ensure safe and effective use.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 4 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a healthcare setting.
2. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
3. Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
4. CPR certified.
5. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) software.
6. Extensive experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, and neurological rehabilitation.
7. Knowledge and experience in teaching Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and using adaptive equipment.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
10. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest best practices in occupational therapy.
