Student Worker-Supplemental Instructor (SI) Leader -UTS

Position type: On-Campus Student Employment

Work-Study program: No

Supplemental Instructors (SI Leaders) work with selected courses and attend lectures, meet weekly with the instructor, and host group study sessions in Waters Library study rooms. Undergraduate students only. Faculty recommendation is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

• Attend lectures with your assigned faculty member.  Host weekly meetings with faculty members.
• Meet with students for 2-hour time increments twice a week to assist with learning freshman-level math courses.
• Lecture class will be assigned based on your current course schedule.

·       Provide quality customer service.

·       Collaborate and communicate with the supervisor.

·       Send weekly emails to students inviting them to study sessions.

·       Set up sessions and host them weekly, and advertise these sessions to students.

·       Complete reports in Navigate once the session is complete.

·       Perform other tasks as assigned. Possible assistance in grading test papers.

Preferred Education/Skills/Experience:

GPA of 3.0 or higher, "A" in the course that you are an SI Leader.

               Faculty recommendation is required.

Max: 15 hours

Rate of pay $11.00 an hour
