Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant position is based in our onsite hospital facility located in Bakersfield, California. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a supportive and dynamic setting, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care that draws from diverse professional expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in executing tailored treatment plans designed to meet the individual needs of patients, emphasizing the restoration of function and strength.
  • Conduct therapeutic exercises and mobility training with patients, ensuring they understand the significance of each activity for their recovery.
  • Utilize various modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the guidance of the Physical Therapist, to enhance treatment effectiveness.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities.
  • Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs, proper body mechanics, and injury prevention strategies to promote self-management of their health.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and maintain equipment, ensuring everything is clean, organized, and ready for therapy sessions.
  • Engage in effective communication with an interdisciplinary team, contributing insights that support coordinated care efforts and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Foster a supportive atmosphere through encouragement and motivation, helping patients feel confident throughout their rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
