Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at Well Extremities Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy in Goshen, New York. In this full-time role, you will work closely under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to deliver exceptional care to patients recovering from various injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions. Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work in an onsite hospital setting, where every day professionally challenges your skill set and knowledge. Your typical hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a consistent and predictable schedule that supports work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of physical therapy treatment plans as designed by the supervising PT, ensuring that all guidelines are adhered to in providing patient care.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities while providing encouragement and support to promote recovery.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting responses to therapy and adjusting treatment protocols as directed by the supervising PT.
  • Provide education to patients about proper body mechanics, safe movement techniques, and home-exercise programs—essentially equipping them with tools to continue their recovery journey independently.
  • Maintain a vigilant focus on patient safety and comfort throughout therapy sessions, reporting any concerns to the supervising PT immediately.
  • Collaborate with the PT and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care and maintain treatment quality.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain timely documentation in accordance with insurance guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with adult patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our diverse patient demographic means you will encounter a variety of needs, from post-operative rehabilitation to injury prevention strategies. Every patient case presents unique challenges, requiring you to adapt treatment plans while fostering strong therapeutic relationships that encourage trust and motivation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, specifically from a CAPTE-accredited program.
  • A valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New York State.
  • Strong comprehension of clinical therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation protocols.

  • Experience with EMR system Web PT is preferred but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
