This full-time, onsite role entails evaluating, developing, and executing personalized treatment plans aimed at enhancing patients' mobility and quality of life. As a Staff Physical Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in patient rehabilitation, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients within twenty-four (24) hours post-referral from physicians, documenting any delays to ensure accountability and transparency in patient care.
  • Create individualized treatment plans based on physician input while employing evidence-based approaches to rehabilitative care.
  • Administer physical therapy interventions following prescribed plans, which may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient education.
  • Continuously supervise Physical Therapy Assistants to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards, promoting best practices in direct patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to communicate patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes.
  • Engage in Patient Care Conferences and Utilization Review meetings to advocate for and optimize patient care pathways.
  • Lead ongoing in-service training programs to elevate the skill set of facility staff in therapeutic techniques and patient mobility strategies.
  • Maintain meticulous records of patient evaluations, treatment notes, and progress updates in alignment with state and federal regulations.
  • Instruct families and caregivers on effective maintenance programs to ensure patients can continue their therapeutic journeys post-discharge.
  • Participate actively in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions and continuity of care for patients.
  • Advise on the procurement of durable medical equipment (DME) essential for patient independence, such as braces, walkers, and other mobility aids.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will cater to a diverse patient population, primarily those undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation. This includes patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. Your patient-centered approach will be key in fostering their recovery and enhancing their functional capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Florida.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in orthopedic rehabilitation principles and practices.

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedic settings, showcasing the ability to apply clinical knowledge to therapeutic interventions.

Compensation and Benefits

Velocity Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary in the range of $90,000 to $100,000 per year, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
