Dental Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team and support the dentist in providing an excellent patient experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced private practice.

You will play an important role in keeping the clinical team running efficiently by providing chairside assistance, preparing treatment rooms, supporting patient care, and maintaining proper sterilization and infection-control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and comfortably assist patients throughout their visit
  • Prepare patients for dental treatments and examinations
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials
  • Assist the dentist with four-handed dentistry
  • Take dental X-rays and perform iTero scans
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and treatment areas according to regulations
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked operatories
  • Provide patients with oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Perform lab tasks as directed
  • Assist with regulated clinical procedures as permitted by applicable requirements
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and support patient flow
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records
  • Follow all OSHA, infection-control, and office safety protocols
  • Support the dentist and clinical team with other day-to-day patient care needs

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience in a private practice
  • Strong knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization protocols
  • Experience with dental X-rays and digital scanning; iTero experience preferred
  • Understanding of OSHA, infection-control, and health & safety regulations
  • EFDA certification or experience with expanded functions is a plus
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn dental software and technology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • High school diploma required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
  • Additional certifications or training, such as EFDA, are a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
