BodySync PT is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to enhance our outpatient orthopedic team in Middletown, New York. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Administering direct patient care following the prescription of the referring physician or authorized practitioner, ensuring that all treatments align with recommended standards.
  • Maintaining accurate progress notes and discharge summaries, documenting each patient’s treatment milestones and improvements.
  • Submitting necessary documentation in adherence to department policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in departmental meetings to review quality improvement processes and contribute insights for enhancing patient care practices.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to emergency situations, adhering to department protocols designed to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborating in clinical assessments and therapy planning alongside Physical Therapists, contributing to comprehensive patient care strategies.
  • Engaging with patients’ families to provide updates on progress and answer questions during meetings or conferences.
  • Executing any additional duties as required to ensure the smooth functioning of the therapy department.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population facing orthopedic conditions, including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, and degenerative joint diseases. Your role will encompass developing individualized rehabilitation plans that cater to each patient's unique circumstances and therapeutic goals.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • An active Physical Therapist Assistant license issued by the state of New York.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy or a related field.
  • A proven record with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills tailored to a patient-centered care approach.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is advantageous.

Preferred Experience
