Shift: 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Driver’s license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/Tdap declinations. Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Specialty Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% or national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization, 2 attempts allowed.

Special Requests: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position. In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on driver’s license.

Unit Details: Cardiac telemetry unit caring for patients with significant cardiac disease and related processes. Typical disease processes include chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, syncope, and patients requiring echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization. Additional procedures and cases include MitraClip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR. Unit may overflow generalized med/surg and other non-cardiac patients as needed. May help precept new hires, including RN residents.

Floating Requirements: Will be first to float primarily to one of five other med/surg units, typically staffed at 5:1 guidelines.
