Shift Gears Physical Therapy Services is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our orthopedic team at our hospital facility in Long Beach, New York. In this full-time role, you will work directly under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care for a diverse population of patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and musculoskeletal injuries.

Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite in a bustling orthopedic clinic within our hospital. The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing you to enjoy a balanced professional and personal life while engaging in meaningful work that impacts the lives of patients every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing personalized treatment plans, ensuring that each patient receives targeted and effective therapy.
  • Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and other modalities conducive to recovery.
  • Continuously monitor and document patient progress, providing accurate updates that facilitate appropriate adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients on effective exercise techniques and therapeutic practices, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for each patient.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation, adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
