Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to become a vital part of our team at Muscleworks Rehab & Physical Therapy Center in Cortland, New York. In this role, you will assist licensed physical therapists in the implementation of therapeutic treatment plans that aim to restore mobility, manage pain, and enhance rehabilitation for patients of all ages.

Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite in our hospital-based orthopedics clinic, which is equipped with modern rehabilitation tools and facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in executing personalized treatment programs for each patient, ensuring all protocols are met.
  • Provide direct patient care through hands-on therapy techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and other modalities.
  • Educate and guide patients on specific exercises and self-management strategies to facilitate their rehabilitation journey.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly and maintain detailed documentation of treatment sessions, adapting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Implement trigger point therapy techniques when appropriate, to enhance patient comfort and facilitate recovery.
  • Proactively support occupational health initiatives that promote wellness and preventive care within our facility.

Qualifications

  • A valid Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.

  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to ensure effective communication and treatment.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
