Be Part of the Next Era of Performance Engineering at SRT

We’re not just building vehicles, we’re reigniting a legend. Stellantis has officially revived the iconic Street and Racing Technology (SRT) performance division to unify high-performance engineering across Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram and bring back the thrill and authenticity that performance enthusiasts crave. SRT is assembling a team of the best and brightest to deliver the next generation of exhilarating, track-ready powertrains that will define the future of performance vehicles. This is your chance to be part of the rebirth of SRT, where heritage meets cutting-edge technology and engineering excellence accelerates every mile.

The SRT Concept Propulsion Engineer is responsible for transforming advanced propulsion ideas into technically feasible, CAD-driven concepts that support the development of high-performance powertrain systems. This role operates at the earliest stages of product development, where engine architecture, component packaging, airflow management, thermal strategy, and system integration are defined. The SRT Concept Propulsion Engineer collaborates across propulsion, calibration, CAE, manufacturing, and vehicle engineering teams to establish the technical foundation for future SRT propulsion programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Propulsion System Architecture – Develop and evaluate propulsion concepts, including engine, induction, exhaust, lubrication, cooling, and accessory drive systems.
  • Advanced CAD Modeling – Create parametric 3D models, assemblies, and packaging studies that support rapid concept development and design iteration.
  • Engine & Vehicle Packaging – Develop early packaging layouts to assess engine bay constraints, component interfaces, serviceability, and vehicle integration requirements.
  • Performance-Driven Concept Development – Generate and evaluate concepts that maximize power density, airflow efficiency, thermal performance, durability, and vehicle performance objectives.
  • Feasibility & Trade Studies – Assess alternative architectures and component concepts for performance, manufacturability, cost, weight, timing, and risk; document recommendations and technical trade-offs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with propulsion design, CAE, calibration, NVH, manufacturing, materials, and vehicle integration teams to mature concepts and align technical direction.
  • Requirements Translation – Convert vehicle and propulsion performance targets into actionable design criteria, packaging requirements, and concept solutions.
  • Rapid Iteration – Develop quick-turn CAD updates, packaging alternatives, and concept variants to support program decision-making.
  • Benchmarking & Competitive Analysis – Evaluate competitor propulsion technologies, high-performance engines, forced-induction systems, and emerging powertrain solutions to identify innovation opportunities.
  • Technical Documentation – Prepare concept models, layouts, design reviews, preliminary BOMs, and engineering presentations to communicate concept maturity and recommendations.

What Makes This Role Unique:

The SRT Concept Propulsion Engineer defines the future of high-performance propulsion systems before detailed design begins. The concepts developed in this role drive critical decisions affecting horsepower, torque, thermal performance, mass, manufacturability, cost, and overall vehicle capability. The ideal candidate combines creativity with sound engineering judgment, balancing bold performance-focused ideas with practical technical execution to help shape the next generation of SRT engines and propulsion technologies.
