Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Working with patients to relieve pain and restore functionality, employing a variety of techniques such as active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, and gait training.

  • Monitoring and documenting patient progress, observing and reporting changes to the physical therapist for ongoing adjustments to care plans.
  • Educating patients regarding the proper use and care of mobility devices, including wheelchairs, braces, and prostheses, to foster independence in daily activities.
  • Maintaining detailed clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment records, to ensure accurate communication within the care team.
  • Participating in staff training, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary educational programs to enhance your professional development and contribution to the team.
  • Performing ancillary duties as assigned, contributing to the comprehensive operation of therapeutic services within the hospital.

Qualifications
