Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Implementing physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising physical therapist, ensuring adherence to established protocols to promote patient recovery.
• Working with patients to relieve pain and restore functionality, employing a variety of techniques such as active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, and gait training.
• Assisting patients in utilizing physical agents for treatment, including heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical modalities, to support pain management and rehabilitation.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress, observing and reporting changes to the physical therapist for ongoing adjustments to care plans.
• Educating patients regarding the proper use and care of mobility devices, including wheelchairs, braces, and prostheses, to foster independence in daily activities.
• Maintaining detailed clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment records, to ensure accurate communication within the care team.
• Participating in staff training, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary educational programs to enhance your professional development and contribution to the team.
• Performing ancillary duties as assigned, contributing to the comprehensive operation of therapeutic services within the hospital.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population includes individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions. You will engage with a diverse demographic, including post-operative patients, elderly individuals, and those requiring rehabilitative care for various musculoskeletal or neurological disorders. Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• A bachelor's degree in physical therapy or a related field from an accredited program.
• A valid state certification or licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant, in accordance with California state regulations.

• A valid driver's license and an insured vehicle to travel for potential outreach programs or community patient visits, as required.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
