Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Registered nurses must be able to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms.

Unit Details

  • Nurse-patient ratios are 1:4 for tele patients and 1:5 for MedSurg patients; a mixed MS and Tele team remains 1:4.
  • Patient population includes acute/chronic medical conditions, cardiac telemetry patients, stroke patients, COVID patients, forensic patients, and potential postoperative patients; non-titratable drips are used.
  • Set-rate drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin; nurses do not titrate drips.
  • The unit uses GE monitors.
  • CPAP or BiPAP may be used per RT and MD order; there are no ventilators.
  • The unit is fast-paced, with many admissions and high acuity.

Shift & Scheduling

  • 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule; weekends are Friday/Saturday for night shifts and Saturday/Sunday for day shifts.
  • Holiday requirement: 1 major and 1 minor minimum.
  • No call; may be placed on standby for low census. If placed on standby and called in, response time is 30 minutes.

Floating Requirements

  • Travelers are first to float. They can be floated to Mercy Downtown (approximately 6.5 miles away), any MS/MST unit, ICU for MST patients, or the ER for MST holds.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
