Surpass Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to enhance our healthcare team. Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Plattsburgh, where the PTA will collaborate closely with physical therapists, nurses, and other health professionals. Our environment promotes teamwork and communication, ensuring that patient care is coordinated and effective. The work schedule for this full-time position is from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a consistent structure and routine.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in the implementation of individualized treatment programs designed to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Provide hands-on physical therapy services, including therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques, under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Educate patients regarding their rehabilitation exercises and perform demonstrations to ensure proper technique and safety.
• Monitor and document patient progress, make necessary adjustments in therapy based on patient response, and communicate findings with the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with the healthcare staff to develop comprehensive care plans that address the physical and emotional needs of patients.
• Utilize advanced techniques such as trigger point therapy and myofascial release when appropriate, contributing to improved patient outcomes.
• Support occupational health initiatives and contribute to the development of wellness programs within the facility.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Surpass Rehabilitation Center, you will work with a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and elderly individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions. You will be instrumental in tackling various rehabilitation goals such as restoring mobility, enhancing strength, and decreasing pain. Your empathetic approach and attentive care will play a crucial role in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
• Active state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• A minimum of 2 years of prior experience working as a PTA in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
• Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and experience with patient rehabilitation protocols.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients, providing quality care that is centered on their individual needs.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is 2 years of experience, candidates with experience in specialized rehabilitation programs, such as sports rehabilitation, geriatric care, or orthopedic therapy, are highly preferred. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation processes will also be an asset.

Compensation and Benefits
