Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Administering direct patient care as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to established treatment protocols and individualized patient plans.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of patient progress, treatment initiatives, and outcomes in accordance with departmental policy and regulatory standards.
  • Providing hands-on therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to enhance recovery.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives by conducting chart reviews and contributing to departmental strategies to elevate service standards.
  • Engaging with patients and their families through educational sessions about treatment options and expectations, which can enhance adherence to therapy.
  • Assisting in the implementation of emergency procedures and ensuring a safe environment for all patients.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department, recommending protocol improvements based on patient feedback and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, or managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You will work closely with patients of all ages, developing rapport and tailoring treatment plans that meet their specific rehabilitation needs. Qualifications

  • A valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an Associate's degree with relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic or rehabilitation setting preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
