Shift Gears Physical Therapy Services is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in the Orthopedic Clinic located in Ballston Spa, New York. In this full-time, onsite position within a hospital setting, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver exceptional rehabilitative services aimed at aiding patients' recovery from orthopedic injuries and surgeries. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the implementation of tailored treatment plans designed to address each patient's specific orthopedic needs.
- Provide direct patient care through hands-on therapy, which includes guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and employing various manual techniques.
- Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting changes and responses to treatment, and collaborate with the Physical Therapist to adjust plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients on appropriate exercise techniques, ensuring they understand the importance of adherence to their therapeutic regimen for effective recovery.
- Work closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, actively participating in treatment discussions to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, adhering to all regulations and standards for documentation in a healthcare setting.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will directly support a diverse patient population ranging from young athletes recovering from sports-related injuries to elderly individuals rehabilitating after surgery. Your approach will emphasize empathy and individualized care, ensuring that each patient feels supported on their journey to recovery.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (AAS in Physical Therapy Assistant is preferred).
- A current, active PTA state license.
- At least 2 years of practical experience in a physical therapy setting, specifically focused on orthopedic care.
- Thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to enhance patient interactions and effectiveness of therapies provided.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, essential for building rapport with patients and fostering collaboration within a healthcare team.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in an orthopedic clinic or hospital environment is strongly preferred.
- Acquaintance with evidence-based practices in physical therapy and knowledge of therapeutic equipment and modalities.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $50,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience.
