Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans established by supervising Physical Therapists to enhance patients’ physical abilities, including strength, balance, endurance, and mobility.
- Support patients in mastering activities of daily living (ADLs), enabling them to regain independence in their everyday routines.
- Document therapy sessions meticulously, capturing progress and any changes in patient conditions, while effectively communicating updates to the supervising Physical Therapist and other members of the care team.
- Instruct patients and their caregivers on safe mobility techniques and home exercise programs tailored to fortify recovery and prevent further injury.
- Educate patients, families, and hospital staff on effective care strategies, therapeutic exercises, and wellness techniques to bolster overall patient health.
- Collaborate with the therapy team as well as physicians and healthcare providers to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care focused on achieving optimal outcomes.
- Continuously monitor individual patient progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary, reporting any significant changes to the supervising Physical Therapist and family members.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a PTA at Mend Force, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, sports injuries, and those managing chronic illnesses. Your expertise will be vital in providing the necessary support and motivation for patients as they work towards regaining their mobility and independence.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Currently active New Jersey PTA license is required.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge with strong interpersonal skills for effective patient communication and teamwork.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred, with additional certifications in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation considered a plus.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for any necessary travel to meet patients’ needs.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a physical therapy setting; prior experience in a hospital environment is advantageous.
- Experience working with elderly populations and familiarity with assisted living or skilled nursing practices are preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
