Mend Force Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our exceptional therapy team in Park Ridge, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans created by the supervising Physical Therapist with a focus on improving patients' strength, endurance, balance, and mobility.
  • Assist patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and transferring, to help them regain confidence and independence.
  • Accurately document patient therapy sessions and progress to ensure continuity of care and communicate any changes in patients' conditions to the PT and interdisciplinary care team.
  • Provide education and instruction to patients and their families regarding safe mobility practices and home exercise protocols to encourage ongoing rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, other healthcare providers, and rehabilitation staff to ensure cohesive treatment strategies and patient well-being.
  • Monitor patient progress continuously and recommend adjustments to treatment plans based on individual patient needs and responses to therapy.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss patient outcomes and share insights on best practices for therapy interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Mend Force, you will primarily work with diverse individuals in a hospital setting, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and other impairments that affect mobility and daily functioning. Your role directly contributes to the enhancement of their quality of life and their ability to remain engaged with their community and families.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Possession of a current, active New Jersey PTA license is required.
  • Strong foundation in clinical skills with a focus on rehabilitation techniques and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred, along with any additional credentials in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation.

Preferred Experience
