Join our dedicated team at Joint Relief Therapy Services as a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Carson City, Nevada. In this critical role, you will collaborate with licensed Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique rehabilitation needs, focusing on enhancing their mobility and improving their quality of life.

Work Environment

Operating primarily onsite, our hospital environment promotes teamwork and direct interaction among health professionals and patients. The clinic is designed for outpatient services, allowing us to provide focused, one-on-one therapy sessions. Our team works Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with a current patient volume of two patients per hour, allowing for quality time spent on each case.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering patient-centered care by implementing individualized treatment plans derived from each patient’s specific needs and therapy goals.
  • Administer hands-on interventions, including therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and manual therapy techniques to promote healing.
  • Educate patients on proper exercise techniques and the safe use of therapeutic equipment, ensuring they are empowered to participate in their own recovery.
  • Monitor and document patient progress regularly, maintaining accurate electronic health records (EHR) and communicating updates effectively to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout therapy sessions by adhering to established protocols and fostering a supportive environment.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary clinical teams to support comprehensive treatment approaches that enhance patient outcomes.
  • Guide patients and their families in understanding their recovery strategies and home exercise programs to encourage continued improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our focus is on providing compassionate care that addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery, ensuring that each patient feels supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Possession of an active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Nevada is required.
  • Proficient in therapeutic exercise techniques and rehabilitation methodologies relevant to outpatient settings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and team members.

Compensation and Benefits
