Position Overview

The Grand Health Care Clinic is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to enhance our onsite rehabilitation team. Work Environment

You will work directly onsite at our modern hospital facility, which boasts state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment and a supportive interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. The position's schedule is typically Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to meet the needs of our patients and clinic operations, providing a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in executing individualized treatment plans that aim to enhance patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Engage with patients directly to instruct and monitor them through therapeutic exercises, stretching routines, and various physical activities designed to promote optimal health and alleviate pain.
  • Educate patients on effective body mechanics and exercise techniques as well as provide guidance for home exercise programs to support their recovery efforts.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring correct application and patient safety.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional status, to inform ongoing treatment adjustments.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring that equipment and supplies are organized and readily available for use in therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team—including physical and occupational therapists, as well as speech-language pathologists—to synchronize patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and motivation to patients during their rehabilitation process, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Adhere to all professional standards and ethical practices, ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained, and their rights are respected throughout their treatment journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position involves working with a diverse patient population, including individuals of all ages recovering from a range of health conditions—from young athletes to elderly patients needing assistance with mobility. Your role as a PTA is critical in tailoring rehabilitation techniques to meet individual needs, ensuring every patient receives personalized support and encouragement on their journey to recovery.

Qualifications

  • An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and various therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy.
  • Ability to effectively implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

Compensation and Benefits

The Grand Health Care Clinic offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
