Position Overview
Velocity Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and innovative Orthopedic Staff Physical Therapist to join our healthcare team in Tallahassee, Florida. The work is predominately onsite within our state-of-the-art hospital located in Tallahassee, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations of patients within twenty-four hours of physician referral, ensuring timely and comprehensive assessments.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with physician recommendations and gain the necessary approvals before implementation.
- Implement treatment protocols while closely adhering to prescribed plans, including hands-on therapy, exercises, and therapeutic modalities.
- Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants during patient care interactions, ensuring compliance with state regulations and the highest standards of care.
- Maintain regular communication with supervising healthcare professionals and team members about patient progress, rehabilitation challenges, and care plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing to coordinated patient care strategies and assessments during Patient Care Conferences and Utilization Reviews.
- Provide educational in-service training for facility staff, enhancing their skills in patient care methodologies.
- Document all treatment interventions, evaluations, and progress notes accurately, following the regulations set by the PT Board State Practice Act and payer guidelines.
- Assist in discharge planning by instructing family members and nursing staff on continued care and rehabilitation protocols after therapy services conclude.
- Facilitate the procurement of durable medical equipment, ensuring patients have the necessary tools to maintain mobility and independence after discharge.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Staff Physical Therapist at Velocity, you will primarily serve patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal issues. Understanding the complexities of these conditions, you will customize treatment plans aimed at restoring function, alleviating pain, and enhancing overall mobility. Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Florida State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

- Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities and maintain patient care quality under various circumstances.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
Velocity Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualification.
